1. Nature of HostFinder.ca

HostFinder.ca is an independent Canadian web hosting directory and editorial research site. It publishes information about hosting companies, infrastructure, pricing, network records, service types and related topics.

HostFinder.ca does not itself provide web hosting, domain registration, managed IT services or customer support for the hosting companies listed on the site. Purchases are made directly from third-party providers and are governed by their own terms.

2. Pricing and information accuracy

I check and update pricing and provider information periodically, but HostFinder is not a real-time pricing feed. Some directory fields are maintained centrally, while many guides and comparison pages are editorial snapshots that are updated when they are reviewed.

Providers can change introductory prices, billing terms, renewal rates, taxes, included features and plan availability without notifying HostFinder. The provider's live checkout and current terms control any purchase you make.

3. Affiliate links

Some outbound provider links are affiliate links. HostFinder may earn a commission if you purchase after using one of those links, at no additional cost to you. Other listed providers have no affiliate relationship with HostFinder.

4. Third-party websites and services

HostFinder links to third-party websites that I do not control. Those websites may change their content, prices, privacy practices or terms independently. HostFinder is not responsible for downtime, data loss, billing disputes, account suspensions, service quality or other issues arising from a third-party provider.

5. Informational content, not professional advice

HostFinder publishes general information about hosting, privacy, data residency, infrastructure and related technical topics. Nothing on the site should be treated as legal, accounting, financial or professional compliance advice. Where a legal or regulatory issue matters to your organization, consult the relevant official source or qualified professional.

6. Intellectual property and third-party marks

Original HostFinder editorial content, custom graphics, site code and data compilations may be protected by copyright and other applicable rights. Brief quotations for commentary or reference are permitted where allowed by law and should identify the original HostFinder page.

Provider names, logos, product names and trademarks belong to their respective owners. Their appearance on HostFinder does not imply ownership, endorsement or sponsorship unless explicitly stated.

7. Acceptable use

You may browse and reference the site for normal personal, business and research purposes. You must not attempt to disrupt the site, bypass security controls, submit malicious content or use automated traffic in a way that materially interferes with normal operation.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

HostFinder.ca is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. Although I work to keep the research accurate and useful, I cannot guarantee that every page will always be complete, current, error-free or suitable for a particular use.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, HostFinder.ca and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or similar damages arising from use of the site or a third-party service linked from it, including lost profits, data loss, downtime or business interruption.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable in Ontario, subject to any mandatory rights or jurisdiction that applicable law provides otherwise.

11. Changes to these terms

I may update these terms as HostFinder changes. The revision date at the top of this page indicates the current published version. Continued use of the site after an update means you are using HostFinder under the revised terms.
