The language I write natively
I was born and raised in Ontario and grew up in an English-speaking household. Most original HostFinder research is therefore drafted in English first.

Serving Canadian Readers in English and French
HostFinder started in English because that is the language I write most comfortably. Canada is not an English-only market, though, and a Canadian hosting directory should make a serious effort to serve Francophone readers too.

A separate Francophone edition
The French section is not meant to be a word-for-word copy of the English site. I adapt provider selection, terminology and editorial emphasis for Francophone readers, with particular attention to Quebec French.
How I prepare French content
I use translation tools and language references as drafting aids, then revise the result for Canadian French terminology, technical accuracy and the context of the page.
When native Francophone readers flag wording that sounds unnatural, I use that feedback to improve both the page and the terminology I use elsewhere on the French site.
Not every page is translated
I would rather maintain a smaller French section that is useful and readable than automatically translate every English page and let the content become stale.
The French homepage therefore focuses on Canadian providers that are especially relevant to Francophone customers, while some technical tools and guides may remain English-only until I can prepare a proper French version.
Terminology matters
Hosting has its own vocabulary, and literal translations can sound awkward. I try to use language that feels natural to Canadian and Quebec readers while keeping technical terms precise enough that a plan, server type or infrastructure claim is not changed by the translation.
Help me improve it
If you are a Francophone reader and see a phrase that sounds robotic, an incorrect technical term or wording that does not fit Quebec usage, I would genuinely like to know.
